Defence Section

The Defence Section is located at the British Embassy, Kyiv, and consists of the following military personnel:

Defence Attaché – Captain John Foreman Royal Navy is the personal representative of the United Kingdom’s Chief of the Defence Staff.  His role is to:

• promote UK views on defence and security policy within Ukraine
• provide practical support to the development of bilateral defence relations and the process of Ukrainian defence reform
• perform military representational duties and promote the UK armed forces in the Ukrainian public eye
• manage the Bilateral Programme.

Assistant Defence Attaché – Flight Sergeant Lee Roberts (Royal Air Force). His role is to:

• support the Defence Attaché
• manage the Defence Section.

The Defence Section is supported by 4 locally employed staff:

• Personal Assistant to the Defence Attaché - Mrs Sarah Morris
• Interpreter and Office Assistant - Mrs Irina Dubish
• Interpreter and Office Assistant - Mrs Tanya Mayboroda
• Defence Section Driver - Mr Zhenya Kozmin
