Visas for the UK

How do I apply for a UK visa in Ukraine?

Where can I get information?

UK Border Agency and the British Embassy in Kyiv work in partnership with a commercial organisation, VFS Global. VFS Global manages the UK Visa Application Centre in Ukraine, where UK visa applicants should submit their applications, biometric data and pay the required visa fee.

You can obtain the information you need about different visa categories and how to apply by

  • visiting the UK Visa Application Centre website
  • calling the VFS Global telephone information service in Ukraine (Premium rate 6 UAH per minute). If you are calling from inside Ukraine, please dial 0 900 302 890 (Please note: KyivStar customers will not be able to use this number). If you are calling from outside Ukraine, please dial (+38) 032 235 17 57. You will be charged the standard international rate per minute
  • emailing the UK Visa Application Centre.

All the information provided is supplied and approved by UK Border Agency.

Please note: UK Border Agency at the British Embassy in Kyiv is unable to deal with visitors, phone calls or emails about visa processes and individual applications. All enquiries should be made in writing either by email or by letter and sent to UK Visa Application Centre (contact details above). They will be dealt with as quickly as possible.

Do I have to pay?

Website and email information is free of charge but there is a charge for using the telephone service.

Where can I get advice?

VFS Global and its staff cannot give you advice on how to complete your application or for what type of visa you should apply. If you need help with your application or advice about the UK's immigration rules and requirements, you should seek advice from a qualified immigration adviser. In the UK immigration advisers are regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC).

You can also obtain advice from legally qualified professionals regulated by designated professional bodies. A list of legally qualified professionals who can advise on immigration matters can be downloaded from the following websites:

Please note: The Law Societies of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and the Institute of Legal Executives cannot provide direct help or advice on visa applications. They can only provide a list of law firms who can advise on immigration matters.

How do I submit my application?

VFS Global manages the Visa Application Centre in Ukraine, where you should submit your application and your biometric finger scans.

Who decides whether I will get a visa?

Your visa application will be assessed and decided by UK Border Agency staff. Neither VFS Global, nor any of its staff, play any part in, nor can they influence the outcome of your visa application. If any member of staff employed by VFS Global claim to be able to influence your application you should inform the British Embassy in Kyiv as soon as possible.

For guidance on visa application processing times please visit the website of the UK Visa Application Centre.

Contacting the British Embassy/Consular Section

Please do not contact the British Embassy or Consulate with general enquiries about the visa application process. You should contact VFS Global with these enquiries.

Responsibility for visa processing rests exclusively with UK Border Agency. No other Embassy officials are involved in or authorised to intervene in the visa application process. Communications about visa applications or decisions should not be sent to any other Embassy officials or sections. Any such communications sent other than to the VFS Global or the Visa Section will not receive a reply.
