Welcome to the British Embassy in Ukraine. Our objective is to promote the interests of the United Kingdom and to contribute to a strong and prosperous international community. More specifically, we aim to promote trade and investment between Britain and Ukraine, to develop strong political, economic, cultural and defence ties between our countries, to provide a fast and fair visa service to Ukrainian citizens and to give effective consular protection to British nationals.
Services we provide:
Consular
The Consular Section provides a full range of consular facilities to British nationals. These include registering births and deaths, providing legal paperwork in marriage cases, issuing passports, notary services and consular assistance.
Visa
The Visa Section is responsible for processing and issuing visas for entry to the United Kingdom. Types of visas processed include student visas, official delegation visas and a combination of other visa categories - tourist, business, family visits and so on. Visa applications are submitted to the Visa Application Centre in Kyiv.
Trade and Investment
The Commercial Section deals with trade and investment issues. It provides local access to the full range of services offered by UK Trade & Investment, the British Government organisation that supports both companies in the UK trading internationally and overseas enterprises seeking to locate in the UK.
Press Office
The Press & Public Affairs Section promotes British policies and values, a positive image of Britain in general and the work of the British Embassy in Ukraine in particular. It serves the needs of the Ukrainian media and general public for information about the United Kingdom and its Government's policies.
Culture and Education
The British Council is the cultural section of the Embassy. It is responsible for supporting the development of long-lasting and mutually-beneficial cultural relations between the UK and Ukraine. It has an office in Kyiv and its regional centres in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lviv and Odesa.
Defence
The Defence Section supports an extensive programme of security and defence reform assistance through the UK’s defence bilateral programme.
Political Relations
The Political Section of the Embassy is responsible for studying, analysing and reporting political and economic developments in Ukraine.
